Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This policy explains what the Learnyaa Quick Bytes app and the website learnyaa.com collect, why, and what you can do about it. Learnyaa is run by Vignesh Moorthy, an individual developer based in Tamil Nadu, India ("we", "us").
In short
- You can use the app without creating an account.
- We do not ask for your phone number, location or contacts.
- We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
- You can delete your account and data at any time.
1. What we collect in the app
- An app ID. When you first open the app, it creates a random ID on your phone. It is not your phone number, your Google account or your device's advertising ID. We use it to tell one install from another.
- Your exam choice. The exam you pick, and any "coming soon" exam you tap to show interest.
- Your activity in the app. For example which bytes you open, your answers, what you mark "Got it" or "Revise again", when you use the app, and whether you tap "I'm interested" on the Premium screen.
- A backup of your progress. The app keeps your progress on your phone and saves a copy on our server so it is not lost.
- App version. The version of the app you are using.
- Reports and messages you send. If you report a byte or use "Contact us", we receive what you wrote and which byte it was about.
- If you choose to sign in with Google: your Google name, your email address and the ID Google gives us for your account. Signing in is optional. It lets you bring your progress back on a new phone.
The name you type in the Profile tab stays on your phone. It is not sent to us.
2. Premium purchases
If you buy Learnyaa Premium in the app, the payment is made through Google Play. Google handles your card, UPI or other payment details; we never see or store them. Google tells us which plan you bought, the order ID, and when your subscription starts, renews, is cancelled or ends.
We use RevenueCat, a subscription service, to check these purchases. RevenueCat receives the purchase details from Google and the Learnyaa account ID linked to your Google sign-in. It does not receive your name or email from us. RevenueCat stores this data in the United States.
We keep purchase records for as long as the law requires us to keep tax and accounting records, even after you delete your account.
To cancel or ask for a refund, use Google Play (Play Store, then Profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions). Google's refund rules apply.
3. What we collect on this website
- Early tester sign-up. If you join as an early tester, we receive the Gmail address you enter. We use it only to add you to the test and to send you the test link. The sign-up is stored using Google Forms.
- Server logs. Like most websites, the company that hosts this site keeps basic technical logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and to keep the site running.
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
4. Why we use this information
- To show your bytes, your Revision list and your progress.
- To back up your progress and bring it back when you sign in on a new phone.
- To find and fix wrong or unclear bytes, and to reply to problems you report.
- To understand in total how the app is used, so we can improve it.
- To keep the service safe from misuse.
By using the app or joining as a tester, you agree to this use. You can withdraw at any time by deleting your data (section 7).
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only with the services that run Learnyaa for us:
- Render (United States), which runs our server and hosts this website;
- Neon, which stores our database;
- Google, for Sign in with Google, Google Play purchases and the tester sign-up form;
- RevenueCat (United States), which checks Premium purchases.
These providers may store data on servers outside India. We may also share information if the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your data while you use the app. When you delete your account, we remove your data from our live systems within 7 working days. Copies may stay for a short time in the automatic backups and logs kept by our hosting providers, until those providers remove them. Purchase records are kept as required by tax law. Tester email addresses are deleted when the test period ends or when you ask us, whichever is earlier.
7. Your choices
- Delete your account and data. See Delete my account for the steps, in the app or by email.
- Sign out. You can sign out of Google in the Profile tab at any time.
- See or correct your data, or withdraw consent. Write to us at support@learnyaa.com.
8. Children
The app is made for adults preparing for competitive exams. It is not meant for anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Data travels between the app and our server over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and limit who can see it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is important, we will also tell you in the app.
11. Your rights and complaints
You can ask us for a summary of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw your consent, or name someone to act for you if you are unable to. Write to support@learnyaa.com from the email you signed in with.
Grievance contact: Vignesh Moorthy, support@learnyaa.com. We reply within 7 working days. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
12. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of India.
