Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
This policy explains what the Learnyaa Quick Bytes app and the website learnyaa.com collect, why, and what you can do about it. Learnyaa is run by Vignesh Moorthy, an individual developer based in Tamil Nadu, India ("we", "us").
In short
- You can use the app without creating an account.
- We do not ask for your phone number, location or contacts.
- We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.
- You can delete your account and data at any time.
1. What we collect in the app
- An app ID. When you first open the app, it creates a random ID on your phone. It is not your phone number, your Google account or your device's advertising ID. We use it to tell one install from another.
- Your exam choice. The exam you pick, and any "coming soon" exam you tap to show interest.
- Your activity in the app. For example which bytes you open, your answers, what you mark "Got it" or "Revise again", when you use the app, and whether you tap "I'm interested" on the Premium screen.
- A backup of your progress. The app keeps your progress on your phone and saves a copy on our server so it is not lost.
- App version. The version of the app you are using.
- Reports and messages you send. If you report a byte or use "Contact us", we receive what you wrote and which byte it was about.
- If you choose to sign in with Google: your Google name, your email address and the ID Google gives us for your account. Signing in is optional. It lets you bring your progress back on a new phone.
The name you type in the Profile tab stays on your phone. It is not sent to us.
2. What we collect on this website
- Early tester sign-up. If you join as an early tester, we receive the Gmail address you enter. We use it only to add you to the test and to send you the test link. The sign-up is stored using Google Forms.
- Server logs. Like most websites, the company that hosts this site keeps basic technical logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and to keep the site running.
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
3. Why we use this information
- To show your bytes, your Revision list and your progress.
- To back up your progress and bring it back when you sign in on a new phone.
- To find and fix wrong or unclear bytes, and to reply to problems you report.
- To understand in total how the app is used, so we can improve it.
- To keep the service safe from misuse.
By using the app or joining as a tester, you agree to this use. You can withdraw at any time by deleting your data (section 6).
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your data. We share it only with the services that run Learnyaa for us:
- our hosting and database providers, who store the data on our behalf;
- Google, for Sign in with Google and for the tester sign-up form.
These providers may store data on servers outside India. We may also share information if the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while you use the app. When you delete your account and data, we remove it from our live systems. Tester email addresses are deleted when the test period ends or when you ask us, whichever is earlier.
6. Your choices
- Delete your account and data. See Delete my account for the steps, in the app or by email.
- Sign out. You can sign out of Google in the Profile tab at any time.
- See or correct your data, or withdraw consent. Write to us at learnyaa@gmail.com.
7. Children
The app is made for adults preparing for competitive exams. It is not meant for anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
8. Security
Data travels between the app and our server over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and limit who can see it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is important, we will also tell you in the app.
10. Contact and complaints
For any question or complaint about your data, write to Vignesh Moorthy at learnyaa@gmail.com. We aim to reply within 7 working days.
